What was the reaction of US citizens to the Vietnam War?


US citizens fully supported the war because of the belief that we must do anything to defeat communism.

The Vietnam War was widely unpopular due to large US casualties and the draft.

US citizens wanted to send more US soldiers to Vietnam.

US citizens wanted to expand the fighting to to nearby countries, like Cambodia and Laos, to make sure communism didn't spread.

They were very into the idea of going to help with the war until they started loosing more and more of their soldiers then got mad at the government for sending
