Teens need more sleep than the average adult for many reasons. For instance, the teen brain is still developing and sleep progress it greatly. A study conducted at UCLA health says, "to stay alert and healthy teens need 8-10 hours for their mind." To be fully awake and alert teens really need 10-11 hours. The less sleep you get, the more you body gets off, and the harder it is to do normal functions without getting sleepy.
