their recently departed grandfather.

B certainly gives a very big clue that it is a gothic story as anything to do with antiques, antiques usually have a sinister feel to them. Cars for example, ones with huge wheels and a relatively small body of the car, it gives a feel that the wheels could easily roll off when driving at high speeds and could cause a crash.

C also gives a gothic feel to it because any cemetery gives a gothic feel particularly with a candle lit lamp and someone in a dark cloth.
