I think that you can use them normally just be careful that your brush doesn't have too much water on it so it doesn't mess up your pencil shading.

Make sure to use watercolour paper or thicker paper to make sure it doesn’t rip

Make sure you have a range of good quality and different sized brushes

Work by starting from the lightest colour and work towards the darkest

Make sure you have paper towel to dry brushes or fix any mistakes
