So there really isn’t a difference between punishment and discipline. You they both involve a reaction to an action to help correct behavior.

In a drum major interview you would probably be asked if you can conduct in 4:4 5:4 3:4 6:8 and if you can do two different things at once. ( I don’t know what school you attend so I can’t tell you for sure. Each school is different)
I’d say that punishment is used in the sense that one will suffer with no gain and discipline is where the aim is to help or improve one’s behavior.

It really depends on what school you go to, but they will probably test your knowledge on the subject.
