To confirm or not to confirm. Catholics baptized as babies usually get first communion at 7/8 and then confirmation at about 14. Communion is given at the “age of reason” however I believe at 8 years old my parents still had a big influence on my life/decisions. I also believe that as an adolescent at age 14 one would also confirm because their parents said so. Babies baptized are born into a Christian household, and likely brought up with Christian teachings, thus they are likely to just follow the faith they are familiar with. A nurtured faith.
Why would a baptized catholic choose not to confirm. Maybe their faith doesn’t play a large role in their life. Or maybe they are more spiritually liberal and ancient ritual doesn’t impact their relationship with god.
