On pages 5-10 of The Early History of the Airplane, the brothers learned that what they believed would be fun turned out to be a lot of work. Read the following excerpt:

“We had taken up aeronautics merely as a sport. We reluctantly entered upon the scientific side of it. But we soon found the work so fascinating that we were drawn into it deeper and deeper.”

Describe something that you find fun that may be a lot of work. Explain how you got drawn in.

Answer:

Running is a real challenge, it's not about skill nor being a "natural" at it, it's about discipline. You cant run fast if you're too heave and you cant run far if you have no condition. While I do enjoy going for walks and running the work that must be put in has been challenging, but is that not what makes life enjoyable? After all, achievement is a satisfaction that is earned, not bought.
