Humans can travel to Mars, but should they? Yes - this is because eventually the earth will die out and we will either have to choose to live here, die here, or adapt. Adapting to another planet (mars) is the best option because it has as much water on there as much as the United States and a mars base can be created, as well as many other facilities.
