Just remember that the slaves were viewed as property and were treated very poorly, being forced to work to the brink of death. If you remember that you must know how Harriet Tubman probably felt when she had crossed the border. Knowing she wasn't property anymore, knowing that she had a chance at a life. A free life. Imagine how exhilarating that must have felt.
