Follow this format and you’ll be done with it quickly and have everything there.
Start with an introduction sentence. First couple sentences are general information about the topic and then a couple more after that are a little more specific. Very last sentence should always be your thesis sentence. So general rule of thumb is 5 sentences at least per paragraph for it to actually be a paragraph.
Then you have your body paragraph or more than one. Sometimes depends on requirement or how much information you have. Body paragraph should start with a sentence that will tell what the paragraph will be about and what you’ll be supporting. Be sure to add in quotes from reputable sites and to cite in text ex:(“blah blah blah”(author,pg#). Make sure you do parenthesis and period for the sentence after the parenthesis. Last thing to remember when doing body paragraphs is after you give your quotes and do in text citation make sure to add sentences afterward that help explain the quote you gave and brings more insight to the topic.
Last paragraph is your conclusion. This is the opposite of your introduction; so instead of going from general info to specific, go from specific to more general. Don’t get too caught up in this one because it is easier than most think since you should not add any new information. Therefore, everything in your conclusion paragraph is just insight and restating what you’ve already said in the rest of your essay.
Add a works cited page and you’re done!
Other tips:
-Create an outline on paper of what you want to say in each of these paragraphs.
-Write down a few quotes from different sources so you’ll know where to place them.
-Remember to do a Works Cited page (can find a generator online) and put them in order alphabetically.
-Use sentence openers that will help your paper flow. Like “After, Among, Before, Therefore, However, Since”.
