- you look at the big picture
- you try to help a person as a whole instead of their different aspects such as mental, physical and social.
I took a holistic view in an exam once when my friend wanted me to give him the answers to some questions.
I thought about how me giving him the results would help him pass the exams but then I also thought about how this might make him seek the easy and wrong path to life as a result of this so I decided against it.
In conclusion, by looking at the bigger picture, I decided that I may be helping him at that time, but it would hurt him in future so I decided against it.
