Five careers within the Education and Training and Government and Public Administration clusters that would be interesting to me are athletic scout, curator, postmaster, auditor, and political scientist. Of these careers, the ones that would be the most appealing to me are athletic scout, curator, and postmaster.

I would want to be a postmaster, because it would allow me to use critical thinking, communication, leadership, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills. In this position, I would hire and train employees, supervise the employees and operations of the postal facility, answer customer complaints, and make sure that the mail is sorted and delivered properly.

In order to get this position, I would need to get a bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, business, or a related field. I would choose to study public administration at Syracuse University, the University of Georgia, or Indiana University–-Bloomington. The University of Georgia offers bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs that are concurrent, so I would probably want to complete that program in order to complete a graduate degree in hopes of promotions later on in my career.

While completing my degree, I would hope to get a position working for the postal service in order to get the experience that I need to get a position in this field. Then, hopefully, I would be able to find a postmaster position after completing the academic requirements necessary for the job.
