I believe that diary writing is a very impactful way of writing. It lets you get up close and personal with whoever has written the diary, and gives you a first person p.o.v! It's almost like having a personal conversation with whoever wrote it. Because I have a well understanding of how a certain person feels about a certain topic, it does make it memorable. I personally enjoy understanding how a protagonist feels about certain situations. The p.o.v certainly does make it tons more interesting as well. You could either feel like you're listening to the person who wrote, or you ARE the person who wrote.

Generally, the structure of a non-fiction story can make a big difference in whether or not it is remarkable. For example, if it is longer it will be less interesting.
