Literature is a part of culture where it’s said that it has different kinds. Literature can be pass from generations and may help to know the culture of our ancestors. As different kinds of Literature are present today, they are kinds that is present during the ancient times where people write what they’re feelings inside. Many countries are being influenced by colonizers with their own way of Literature. Philippines is the example of it, being colonized by different countries with different Literature styles helps to create or make the current Literature.

In the present where we are free to learn and read different kinds of Literatures from the past, we can say that we have adapt the characteristics of each styles from our colonizers. Sadly, our own Literature is being outdated due to the influence of the colonizers. I’m happy to see that many Filipinos are being knowledgeable to Alibata, they are happy to learn our own Literature.

Here in the Philippines we are known from adapting, we adapt our current behaviors and cultures from the colonizers from our past. Also, in Literature, many kinds of Literature are being passed here in the Philippines, from Legend, Epics, Folklores and many more. Locals have their own folklores that may be different to other provinces. This shows that Literature here being diverse due to different history of each Literature. We can sense the adaptation of Literature as we are able to study the different Literature of our colonizers and we are able to make one of it. It’s cool to see that we are free to study and make them with the right topics in our lives.

  • As a learner studying Philippines' diverse history, appreciating the importance of history not only as a school subject but also as a means of discovering one's background is paramount.  An improved future cannot happen without today's input.

  • Knowledge of history helps one to determine the future course.  To learn and live now in Philippines, the young learner should not be disgruntled with the past.  Instead, they should discover how the past has shaped the present and devise the correct course to follow.

  • Neither should the learner be satisfied with the past to the extent of complacency.  The past cannot be fulfilling without the future.  You must study literature and history and make efforts to document stories of life today.  These form the history of tomorrow.

Thus, a grade II Filipino learner has a responsibility to look back at the history of Philippines with the correct sense  of adaptability so that a better tomorrow will manifest.
