Futurism was a literary, artistic and utopian movement of the 20th century that sought a radical break from previous traditions.
Futurism praised the machine, rejected the art of antiquity and advocated the demolition of museums. Futuristic paintings depicted moving figures and objects; poetry used an "industrial" imagery, a grammar and a vocabulary that was deliberately destroyed in the service of onomatopoeia.
