(2) The sum of angles in a quad is always 360.

Take line RST and you get the value of angle RSP as 180 - 110 which is 70. This is due to them being linear pairs. Angles formed by a straight line is always 180 degrees!

110 + x = 180

x = 70

Now for y

Since we found values for all the 3 angles, which are 140, 110, 70, the 4th one is gonna be the sum of all the 3 angles subtracted from 360

140 + 110 + 70 + y = 360

y = 360 - (140 + 70 + 110)

y = 50 <- That's the answer.

(2) 2 of the angles are already given. If you look, angle U is 90 degrees. That's what the sign represents.

Angle Q (In the quad) is going to be 180 - 110 (Linear pairs) = 70

Since we found 3 angles the 4th one (angle R) is going to be 360 - (90 + 50 + 70) which is 360 - 210 which is 150.

Since angle R in the quad is 150, due to linear pair property, 3x = 180 - 150

3x = 30

x = 30/3 = 10

x = 10 <- That's the answer :D
