Weathering is wearing away the surface of the rock, an example, wind and water cause small pieces of rock to break off at the side of the mountain. EROSION happens when rocks and sediments are picked up and moved to a different area, an example is water getting into cracks then when it freezes it expands causing the area to crack apart
