To kill a mocking bird by Harper Lee is a fictional novel that depicts the Southern States of the USA during the Great Depression. The novel takes place in Maycomb an imaginary town in Alabama. The plot and characters are loosely related to Lee's observations of her neighbors, her community and an event that ocurred near her hometown. The story is told  by  the six-year-old Jean Louis Finch nicknamed Scout who lives with his older brother Jeremy nicknamed Jem and his father, a middle-ager lawyer. The community recognizes Atticus as a respectable person. In this thing they are pretty much united but they are divided about Tom Robinsons's trial.
