My close friend and teammate told me earlier tonight that she liked me and I told her that I don't know how I feel. Once I left, I debated it and I can't imagine us being anything other than friends. She has Borderline Personality Disorder and she is very sensitive. Rejection is hard for anyone but I can't imagine how it would be for her. I care about her a lot and it hurts me that I am the one causing her pain. She is very sweet and mature as well as formal. How do I reject her without making her too upset and awkward?

heyy i have bpd too , and while it may hurt a little i would prefer honesty . obviously be nice about it but just say that you don't want to make things complicated and you want to stay friends . i think she'll understand . if not at first when she thinks about it later , hope this helps ❤️

Honeslty dude the best thing you can do is be honest with her. If you don't see her in that way you just gotta tell her because if you lie to her and lead her on she might think she still has a chance which would make things much worse. try to reassure her that this really wont change things between yall and that you really like having her as a friend and you hope that your friendship can still grow even with this happening.
