Meredith picked 4 times as many green peppers as red peppers. if she picked a total of 20 peppers, how many green peppers did she pick?

she picked 16 green peppers.

4*5= 20
4*4= 16
she picked 16 green peppers because 4g + g = 20,
                                                             5g = 20,
                                                               and so g=4
since she picked four times the number of red peppers of the green peppers,4 x 4 = 16.
