Respuesta :
The organisms above will either die or will find a new prey from the lower chain. Organisms below will increase in number, unless a new predator appears or disease will set in
The other organisms either face extinction or disturbances in the food chain when an organism in the middle is lost.
What is a food chain?
The interdependent relationships of different organisms among each other. This is basically a way of population control in an ecosystem where organisms survive by feeding on other organisms.
For example, in a grassland ecosystem, the lion will feed on the deer and the deer will feed on the grass. Now, if in a turn of events, the population of deer goes extinct from that ecosystem, lions will have nothing to eat and the grass will also grow in surplus amount.
This results in an imbalance in the ecosystem. In such a condition, the lion's population will either find new prey or go completely extinct.
Therefore, if the middle organism of the ecosystem is lost, the ecosystem will be disturbed resulting in the death of individual organisms of species dependent on the lost species.
