When a sale happens in a shop, you might take off 20%, 50%, etc. of the price of a product.
Say you are working at a store and you are given 180 boxes of poptarts to stack on the shelf. You take a break while stacking and noticed you have already stacked 45 boxes. You want to know what percent of boxes you have already stacked. You would divide part over whole where as in this situation is 45/180. This would give you 0.25 and you would then covert this to a percentage which would be 25%. Hope this helps! :) Let me know if you have any questions.
