If your romantic partner does not respond to your instant message while you are both online and you assume he or she is losing interest in you, what kind of attribution are you making?
A negative one, your automatically assuming that your partner is losing intrest in you, or the conversation. So, I'd say either ask what's up/wrong, or start a new conversation.
