I don't know whether to do -380 x 3, or a positive 380.

To do this, descending would be decreasing, so use a negative sign. Then, calculate how many seconds are in 3 minutes: 3 X 60 = 180. Now, you multiply. -380 X 180 = -68400.

So therefore, in three minutes, Laura would've descended 68400 feet.
This means that the change in altitude is -68400 feet.
