Police brutality started back then when racism was still a problem and it still is today. Protesters have been peaceful and since the cops are throwing tear gases, and push the protestors to the ground and hurt them the protestors wouldn't want to stay peaceful anymore. Police Brutality often happens to African Americans when the police are afraid of an "armed black person". There are many people who have died in silence and still need to get justice. A lot of those people happened to die from police brutality. The police are supposed to protect and serve not choose who you want to shoot or handle nicely.
