PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!! Did glucose diffuse through the membrane? It did, but I need a good reason as to why it did.

Respuesta :

Answer:

yes because the digestion of starch to glucose is necessary because the starch molecules are too large to diffuse across the cell membrane. Glucose however is small so it can diffuse in or out of a cell.

Explanation:

Since glucose is a large molecule, it is difficult to be transported across the membrane through simple diffusion. Hence, it diffuses across membranes through facilitated diffusion, down the concentration gradient. I’m not sure if that helps, but you can also simplify it to say “Because glucose is a large molecule, it goes through facilitated diffusion”
