Read the Preamble to the US Constitution:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

The purpose of the Constitutional Convention was to address problems that the Articles of Confederation did not consider. For each part of the Preamble listed, describe a problem that the Constitution was intended to address.

1. Establish justice
2. Insure domestic tranquility
3. Form a more perfect union
4. We the People of the United States of America
