When Augustus questions Hazel about her story, why would he have been disappointed if her life had been about “the cancer growth business?” He says, “Don’t tell me you are one of those people who become their disease.”
i believe he sees more to people than just their diseases. he wanted to live his life normally like anyone else rather than thinking all is lost because of his condition. he changed Hazel's point of view so she didn't become one of those people. I hope this helps!! (it was an amazing movie btw)
