A girl is born with hemophilia. Her dad also has hemophilia, but her mother does not.

What genetic explanation can you provide as to why the girl
suffers from hemophilia?

Respuesta :

answer:

So daughters get 2 X chromosomes from the mom and dad and if the dad has hemophilia the daughter would get it too and sons would not get because they get Y chromosome from their dad and hemophilia is found in the X chromosome because the X chromosome is the one that has the instructions for making the clotting factor proteins.

Explanation:

A father who has hemophilia has the gene and passes it on to his daughter because daughters get two X chromosomes, one from their mother and the other from their father. This is why daughters of men with hemophilia are called obligate carriers. Since sons only receive a Y chromosome from their father, they would not have inherited hemophilia.

Hope this make sense!
