1. How do you feel that our perception of beauty is influenced by the media in our country? Do you feel that as a model giving a TED
talk about "looks aren't everything" that Cameron Russell should have addressed this more?

2. how might this unrealistic perception of beauty portrayed by media negatively impact the physical and emotional health of young adults and teens? how does Cameron Russell adjusters this when talking about the media retouch photos and showing photos of herself as a child?

3. do you have any personal experience with the negative impact that the media has betrayed of beauty has on young women? do you have any strong feelings one way or another about young girls aspiring to be models? do you feel like Cameron Russell‘s simulated response to hypothetical questions from little girls aspiring to be models were appropriate?

1) i think it infuences a lot. And it causes a lot of insecurities. Just knowing that we cant look a certain way, like perfect. But there is some people on the internet who will motivate people, that they are perfect the way they are.

Yess!!! i feel like she should because. knowing that she is a model, it will help others all over the world. knowing that those words are coming from her.

2) Um, feel like it does ruin, mental health. Knowing that a person cant look "perfect" or they dont have a small nose or full lips. so it does take on at mental health. Making other people in this world and look a certain way they want to.

but i feel like she should talk about this as starting off as how we all look, when we are small. And as we start to grow up our facial features start to get better. But we all start off the same. and we grow with insecurities, but as we get older we have to learn how to love ourselves. And if you want to become a model, you have to be confident in yourself, but also help others feel the same way. And no matter how many times model agencies say no to you, stop to not make your dream come true.

3) yes i have because i feel like i dont look the same. i have a long nose, and my ears go out. so it is something that people notice. and people have called it out to me. but i try not to let it get to me. But as of right now i am working on getting more confidence in myself.

I feel like if a girl wants to be a model she can! there no right or wrong answer as of what someone wants to be when they get older. if they want to be a model then they should! let other people tell you to not continue your dream.

yes i think so, because shes one, and know that other girls in this world wanting to be one. So her having to give a speech about it is really convincing, if a little girl wants to be one.
