Suppose the earth’s moon shrunk in mass by 50% (the moon would still be able to orbit the earth with this new mass and still take the same time to complete a lunar cycle).
Construct a claim to describe 1 change to earth’s tides that would occur due to this decrease in the moon’s mass; support your claim with evidence and your own reasoning.

Answer: The oceans would be almost still but have some tides. Therefore, killing millions of sea creatures who depend on the tide to survive.
Evidence: Low tide creatures such as anemones and barnacles would die out since they depend on occasional high tides to survive.
