Then we have the formula to calculate the potential energy

P.E 1 = mgh

= 2 * 10*2

= 40 joule

Now for Stone Y

mass (m) = 4 kg

height (h) = 4 m

acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10 m/s²

Now

P. E2 = mgh

= 4 * 10* 4

= 160 joule

Now the difference between their potential energy is

= P. E2 - P. E 1

= 160-40

= 120 joule
