hour of class. In all, how many hours will Tristan have to spend in class before he will have
a total of 31 pages of notes in his notebook?

Make an equation
Y = 18 + 1x
y = total pages, x = hours
plug in 31 for total page
31 = 18 + 1x
Subtract 18 from both sides
x = 13
Solution: 13 hours
