Answer: I read the Alchemist, It's such a good book!! it was like 4 years ago though, so I might be a little off... Anywhosies, The crystal merchant told the main character that he had a dream of reaching 'mecca', but he never wanted to achieve his dream because he feared that if he achieved his dream, he would lose his purpose for living, and he feared that, after so long dreaming of the grand mecca, the real thing would be a disappointment. Once the Main character/Shepard heard the merchant's dream, and reasons for not realizing his dream, the main character/Shepard stopped using urim and thummim (the two stones the king had given him) because "Egypt was just a distant dream for him, as Mecca was for the merchant". Later though, the main character changes his mind and heads off to Egypt anyway, to realize his dream.

Explanation:

So the merchant kinda got the main character unsure, and if he had not re-changed his mind to go to Egypt instead of staying with the crystal merchant and then heading back to be a shepard once again, he would have never realised his dream in egypt.

LOOONG story short, the conflict, is that the merchant made the MC (main character) unsure of what to do with his dream, dream of it forever, or go realize it, but eventually MC made up his mind to go to egypt.

Sorry this is so long. But would you mind maybe marking brainliest? :)
