Thornton is a good man who rescued Buck from the place where he lived and suffered a lot of abuse. Buck was a victim of cruelty, but when Thornton rescued him and Buck came to live with him, Buck had a different life. Thornton was very kind to Buck and they had a very fun life, in addition to gratitude, Buck had a strong loyalty to Thorntone and we can see that through the attitudes that Buck had throughout history.
