This is because satellite imaging allows scientists to observe all of these occurrences, since they can view where deforestation has occurred (mass fields where trees have been removed), where it is recovering (via smaller trees or vegetation growing), where it hasn’t occurred (Just by seeing where trees are mainly located) and difference in deforestation (Via showing rates of deforestation and more).
