There were two populations of coyotes on either side of the Colorado River. Since the water was high, they were not able to interbreed. Coyotes on one side of the river had long ears, and coyotes on the other side of the river had short ears. One summer, the river was low enough that one of the long-eared coyotes was able to cross to the other side and breed with several short-eared coyotes. What will happen to the population of short-eared coyotes?
