Hello!
One of the reasons that rodents bite is because it senses danger. For example, if someone reaches over to pet it, it would be unable to recognize that the hand is not a danger and instead a friendly action. Rodents don't have that kind of knowledge.
Another reason could be rodents fighting each other. Biting is a defense mechanism.
An underlying reason to frequent aggressive behavior could also be rabies.
