The cell membrane is a flexible barrier that surrounds the cell. it's purpose is to allow certain chemicals to go in and out of the cell. It also protects the cell from any unwanted guests who might like to get in.

the cell membrane is a protective covering for the whole cell. its basically the guard bubble of the cell. the nucleus decides what can come in and out of the cell so if the nucleus allows sth to come in the cell membrane allows it to pass through, if it doesnt then it cannot pass.
