The people who travel to or live in Antarctica fall into two main groups, those who live and work on scientific research stations or bases, and tourists. No-one lives in Antarctica indefinitely in the way that they do in the rest of the world. It has no commercial industries, no towns or cities, no permanent residents.
There is a tourist area in Vostok station with a McDonald's and a Bowling alléy .

There is a research centre called Halley VI which recently came, someone I know went there :) they said that the room felt like a hotel and there was just nothing to do but watch T.V ( the rest was official business with a uni which I don't know about)
