Simon and Maurice ordered a gift for their parents' anniversary. The gift cost $60. Simon has only $18, so Maurice will have to put up twice as much as he had originally planned. How much money had Maurice originally planned to pay?

HE was planning to pay 30$ but it ended up as 60$ so in that case it´s 42$.

Simon hs $18-->>>

18+2x=60

18+2x=60
-18       -18

2x=42

x=21
