Sometimes, the author decides to write about a personal experience and, in this case, it is possible for him/her to use the first person pronoun, that is to say "I". Generally, the author of a narrative essay includes details and descriptions. The idea included in option b) is related to a personal experience; therefore, it can be used to write a narrative essay.
