Mario spent $23.85 at the bookstore on one book and som magazines. The book cost $12.60 and the magazines cost $2.25 each. How many magazines did Mario buy?

You do $23.85 minus $12.60. Which is 11.25 then divid the 11.25 by 2.25 That will give you the number of magazines which is 5 Magazines

Mario but 1 book.  $12.60 each, Total = 12.6*1 = 12.6

Let the number of magazines be x, $2.25 each = 2.25x

Entire total cost = $23.85

12.60 + 2.25x = 23.85

2.25x = 23.85 - 12.60

2.25x = 11.25

x = 11.25/2.25

x = 5

Mario bought 5 magazines.
