A judicial review is a review by the US Supreme Court of the validity of a Legilative Branch act.

Answer:

The power of  a court to review a law for constitutionality and strike down the law if it is found to be unconstitutional is called judicial review. A court can invalidate an executive decision for being unlawful, and statue for being violations the constitution. It is a check and balance in the separation of power so that judiciary can check the executive and legislative branches if they exceed their authority.
