li needs 15 pieces of string each 1/2 of a inch long. she cut a 6-inch piece of string into pieces that are 1/2 of an inch long . how many more pieces of string does she need ?

Li needs 3 more pieces, an 1 and 1/2 cut into 3 pieces.
She needs 3 more i think because...
1/2 divided into 6 is 12 
just cross multiply 6/1 by 1/2
and 15-12=3
