Probably not because Christianity forbade the enslavement of Christian People. However, Europeans would have come up with other institutions, similar to slavery, in order to make use of African Labor.
For example, in the Americas, the Spanish and Portuguese could not enslave the Native Peoples after they were converted to Christianity. However, they became part of an institution called "Encomienda", in which the Native Americas worked lands that they did not own, and had to pay the surplus production in taxes. It was almost slavery, but mostly similar to European manorialism of the Middle Ages.
