Formula:
(profit) = (ticket price) * (number of people) - (cost to put on show)
We have two equations here:
[tex]500=120p-c[/tex]
[tex]400=100p-c[/tex]
Solve:
[tex]100=20p[/tex]
⇒[tex]p=5[/tex]
⇒[tex]400=100(5)-c[/tex]
⇒[tex]400=500-c[/tex]
⇒[tex]c=100[/tex]

So the price of a ticket is $5, and the cost to put on the show is $100.
