Answer:
Although most people see fossil fuels as always negative they are not. The biggest and most dangerous problem when it comes to fossil fuels is the risk of political leaders trying to get rid of them and although that may seem absurd let me explain why.
Explanation:
First of all when fossil fuels are burned/used they release carbon dioxide which is what plants use to convert into photosynthesis so they can create oxygen for humans and animals to breath. People who work with fossil fuels such as workers in the oil field and fossil fuel distributors would lose their jobs. Millions of people work in the production, making, and distributing of these resources and they would all lose their jobs. This will not only effect million of families but it would also cause the economy to collapse!
The burning of fossil fuels constitutes a major source of energy to humanity but poses different problems as well. The most dangerous among the problem is the pollution to the environment.
Some of the pollutants that emanate from the burning of fossil fuels include:
- Oxides of sulfur
- Oxides of Nitrogen
- Oxides of Carbon
- Lead compounds
The oxides of sulfur cause acid rain which in turn causes material damages to humanity in addition to affecting the health of humans and other biodiversity.
Oxides of nitrogen and carbon cause global warming which in turn causes the global climate to become erratic. Climate change has a wide variety of negative effects on the world's ecosystems. These effects include, but not limited to:
- Heatwaves
- Flooding
- Desertification of forests
- Loss of biodiversity
- Loss of habitats
In other words, the most dangerous of all the problems caused by the use of fossil fuel is pollution and accompanying change to the climate of the world.
