Mrs. Dawes has 4 bags of potting soil.
She uses 1 bag for a large plant and the remainder for small plants.
If each smaller plant uses 1/8
of a bag of soil, how many smaller plants can she pot?

it should be 24

4 bags - the one for the big plant
3 left so 8 plants take up one bag.
so then that should mean 24 plants can be potted with the 3 remaining bags
