Christopher's backyard is in the shape of a trapezoid. The bases of his backyard are 30 and 40 feet long. The height is 8 feet long. What is the area of Christopher's backyard.

the formula for area of a trapezoid is 1/2h•(b+b)

so let's plug in the numbers

1/2h•(70)=525

so divide both sides by 70

1/2h=7.5

now divide both sides by 0.5

h=15

so the area is 150.
